Job Summary

A dynamic role for a skilled analyst with excellent research and communication skills

The Ministry of Social Development & Poverty Reduction focuses on reducing poverty, creating opportunities, and increasing inclusion. The ministry provides strategic leadership and quality services that empower British Columbians to share in the province’s prosperity, with a vision to participate fully in their community and to reach their full potential. To help those in need find and maintain employment, the Employment and Labour Market Services Division works with contracted service providers to provide job search resources, employment planning, skills assessment, training, work experience and more.

The Sr. Operations Analyst works in a dynamic, results oriented environment with frequently changing issues and priorities and must be able to respond promptly and effectively to address a wide variety of service delivery issues. This includes providing advice and expertise to ensure that appropriate systems and procedures are developed to support an effective service delivery structure throughout the province.

Job Requirements:

  • Post secondary degree in a related field (such as public or business administration, social sciences or commerce), and two years (2) *related experience; OR
  • Post secondary diploma in a related field (such as public or business administration, social sciences or commerce), and four years (4) *related experience; OR
  • A certificate in a related field (such as public or business administration, and five years (5) *related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and *related experience may be considered.


*Related experience must include:

  • Experience working in a contract administration environment ensuring contract deliverables are achieved.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Experience preparing and presenting briefing and decision notes.
  • Experience leading projects, taken from concept to implementation and completion.
  • Experience working within teams or independently on a variety of projects.


Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Experience with Employment Services in a Social Sector.

There is currently one (1) permanent opportunity, and one (1) temporary opportunity to September 13, 2025. A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.

Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement.
