What to Expect: The Overnight Asset Protection Access Control associate is responsible for ensuring the physical security and safety of their facility. Through physical presence, verification of personnel entering / exiting and routine checks of the property, this position enforces company policy and acts as the primary point of contact for all matters Asset Protection related during their shift. This role also actively monitors for, and responds to, potential safety concerns, security breaches and / or critical incidents, appropriately addressing or escalating to leadership and / or law enforcement. What you will do: ● Be accountable for all aspects of Asset Protection and physical security relating to the facility during the overnight hours. ● Actively monitor burglar alarm systems, CCTV cameras and access control systems, responding to potential security breaches or vulnerabilities in the moment. ● Greet all associates, visitors, contractors, and vendors, verifying authorized personnel, issuing or preventing access where needed, checking in / out in adherence with company policy. ● Ensure that all company Asset Protection policies and procedures are being followed. ● Observation and appropriate reporting of all security and safety hazards, or any other unusual incidents. ● Have a strong understanding of the facility, including a working knowledge of ongoing projects requiring after hours or overnight attention or observation. ● Respond to critical incidents during their shift and serve as the main point of communication, escalating to their direct or regional / district manager where appropriate. ● Perform light clerical/data entry duties. ● Perform regular patrols of the building, conducting regular checks and audits of security related equipment and standards. ● Monitoring of systems and procedures to detect or monitor internal dishonesty. ● Answer incoming calls and respond or action accordingly. ● Maintain standards and strive for service level improvements. ● Actively support the company's Health and Safety programs. ● May be required to coordinate with or support cross functional team members to complete operational functions taking place off hours. ● May complete opening and closing of the building. What you will bring to the team: ● Retail Loss Prevention or Asset Protection, Security, Law enforcement students or other related experiences or studies with an understanding of retail procedures and criminal civil proceeding process are welcomed. ● Working knowledge of CCTV, burglar alarm or other security related systems is considered an asset. ● Valid region/market specific security license. (Only Exception - Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan where a license is not required.)
