Pacific Academy is inviting applications from qualified individuals for a full-time, continuing Outdoor Education teacher position in the High School. This position will commence in August 2024.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates should:
Hold a valid British Columbia teaching certificate
Possess an understanding of and commitment to Christian Education
Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith
Be fluent in oral and written English
Have an ability to teach various courses which may include: Social Studies, English, Physical and Health Education, Christian Perspectives, or other relevant subjects
Be able to collaborate on the development and implementation of Career Education with the High School Guidance Counsellor
Be experienced in some or all of the following areas of instruction: canoeing (flat and moving water), hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, backcountry travel
Hold suitable certifications related to outdoor education, or be willing to complete coursework within the year towards their attainment
Have a willingness to attend all Summit trips, including monthly day trips, 8-10 multi-day back country trips, and 2-3 multi-day overseas trips
