The Central Coast School District is seeking a dynamic leader with proven records of exemplary teaching and leadership for consideration for the position of principal at Nusatsum Elementary School. The principal will be assigned District responsibilities in the area of Inclusive Education. The principal will assist in fostering an environment of instructional excellence where staff thrive in helping students to reach their full potential.
Situated on the traditional territory of the Nuxalkmc and serving the communities of Bella Coola, Hagensborg, and Firvale, Nusatsum Elementary School provides a unique learning
and working environment. Nestled among the Coast Mountain Range alongside the beautiful Bella Coola River, staff and students in this school of approximately 40 students enjoy natural surroundings with a focus on experiential learning and a sense of belonging.
DOCUMENTED QUALIFICATIONS MUST INCLUDE:
The successful applicant will meet the eligibility requirements of the B.C. School Act and have:
Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch certification;
Demonstrated excellence as a teacher and educational leader;
A Masters degree from a recognized university; and,
Successful experience as a Principal, Vice Principal or similar leadership role.

Demonstrated leadership in learning evidenced by current knowledge of pedagogical best practices and the redesigned curriculum;
Promoting a comprehensive range of learning opportunities for students, including social responsibility, fine and performing arts, athletics, global citizenship, and technology;
Implementing innovative practices that lead to student success;
Demonstrated commitment to personal accountability and professional growth;
Demonstrated commitment to the role that public education can play in the success of individuals, communities, countries and the world;
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills as demonstrated by the ability to listen effectively and work collaboratively;
Demonstrated ability to build effective teams and a sense of community, and to work effectively in a unionized environment;
Demonstrated ability to plan with the end in mind and to remain focused on agreed upon goals;
A vision for the role of technology to amplify learning;
Preference will be given to individuals with an educational background in diverse abilities.
The salary range for this position is per the BCPSEA Regional Salary Model for Principals - $151,364 to $168,499 per year.
