Our valued public sector client is seeking to hire a Senior Telecommunications Analyst to test, configure, maintain, install, manage and control SATCOM communications systems.

Background:

The organization provides the only sovereign, strategic communication systems that supports domestic and expeditionary operations. The emergence of new technology, the end of life and replacement of legacy equipment, additional responsibilities and equipment to manage has increased at an unexpected rate. With this increase in the work load, the organization has an immediate requirement for one Telecommunications Analyst to assist the LCMMs with the following systems:

a. Satellite Communications (SATCOM)

b. Radio and antenna

c. Microwave Links

d. Secured Video Teleconferencing

e. Red Switch Network

f. Voice Telecommunications Services; and

g. Deployed Operations Gateway

Responsibilities May Include:

• Assist the section LCMMs with technical support by evaluating electronic and electrical power requirements at both service locations and customer sites;
• Compile reports capturing satellite configuration information and network setup requirements for service/site implementation;
• Conduct testing on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) equipment to identify power restrictions and/or requirements;
• Assist the Technical Authorities by preparing technical instructions and job aids to assist end users with the testing and the repair of faulty satellite telecommunications equipment;
• Assist the LCMMs with the cataloguing of new satellite equipment
• Assist the TA to track all the movement of all satellite communication equipment and to maintain a record of all power, connectivity and inventory requirements;
• Provide technical advice and power site requirement to the LCMMs, management and other government agencies as required;
• Assist with the updating of various databases, networking information and circuit diagrams using AutoCAD;
• Validate circuit boards using LabVIEW, Multisim & MPLAB X.

Must Haves:

• Satellite communication systems - 1 year
• Defence ERP system - working knowledge
• Certificate, Diploma or Degree (recognized by a Canadian institution)
• Driver's License
• Secret Clearance
