MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS

Salary Range - $74,792 - $93,485 per year (under review)

1.0 FTE Permanent

The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Supervisor - Electrical Systems. Reporting to the Manager Maintenance & Environmental Services, the Supervisor will be responsible for planning and coordinating the delivery of planned, preventative and corrective maintenance programs for electrical power, distribution, lighting, life safety, solar, security and surveillance systems, as well as elevators and technical shop equipment in all board owned buildings, in keeping with Facility Services operating and capital budgets. This position will require regular travel throughout the entire county to assess maintenance and repair needs, inspect the work of internal staff and contracted services, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. This may include the need to attend and resolve emergency or urgent situations outside of regular working hours.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

· Certificate of Qualification - Master Electrician License;

· Five (5) years related maintenance experience in the areas of electrical power, distribution and lighting systems, life safety systems (fire suppression, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, emergency generators and lighting), security systems, keyless entry systems, CCTV/surveillance systems, elevators and lifts, accessibility devices, solar PV systems;

· Knowledge of applicable Ontario Electrical Codes and relevant regulatory requirements;

· Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems;

· Two (2) years supervisory experience, preferably in a public sector unionized environment;

· Leadership and conflict resolution skills;

· Ability to assist in the preparation of the annual electrical budget and provide co st controls to ensure expenditures are within the allocated budget;

· Excellent oral and written communication skills;

· Excellent organizational and time management skills;

· Computer literacy and ability to work with a variety of computer software programs, such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook ;

· Excellent understanding and working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems;

· The successful candidate must possess a valid drivers licence;

· The nature of this position will require the successful candidate to service large geographical areas.

This is a full-time permanent position. The regular work year for this position is twelve (12) months of the year. The compensation range for this twelve (12) month position is $74,792 to $93,485 per year (under review), depending on qualifications and experience. This position is based on a thirty-five (35) hour work week.

Participation in the OMERS Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time permanent employees,

even if currently in receipt of an OMERS pension.
