C.J. Schurter School is located in the Town of Slave Lake in northern Alberta in the Municipal District of Lesser Slave River. It is located 257 km north of Edmonton on the southeast shore of Lesser Slave Lake at the junction of Highway 2 and Highway 88.
C.J. Schurter School maintains a strong focus on literacy and numeracy and utilizes a balanced approach to instruction. Staff members work with literacy and math instructional practice to address the literacy and numeracy goals of the school through grade level professional learning environments.
C.J. Schurter School uses "Kindness Counts" to guide their character education philosophy and are proud that programming centers around supporting the development of behaviours and mindset which have positive effects on self-confidence, problem solving ability, communication skills and helps develop a positive school culture and atmosphere.

Demonstrate instructional leadership, administrative ability, and strong interpersonal skills
Committed to developing twenty-first century learners
Committed to collaborative decision-making
Experience and/or post-graduate program in Ed Admin or equivalent will be a definite asset
Requirements:
Candidates must have completed a Bachelor of Education Degree and have an Alberta Teaching Certificate or have proof of application from Alberta Education.
Successful candidates must produce an ORIGINAL, acceptable, recent (less than six months old) Criminal Record Check which must include Vulnerable Sector Check
TQS or proof of application from the Alberta Teachers’ Association.
