Position: Grade 3-4 Teacher

Location: Brochet School

Start Date: September 3, 2024

FTE: 1.00 FTE

Term of Employment: Term to June 27, 2025 (with possibility of extension)

Brochet School is a Nursery to Grade 9 school with approximately 135 students. Brochet is a picturesque and peaceful community located on the northeastern shore of Reindeer Lake. Access is via daily scheduled flights from Thompson, MB and by winter road. The community has a population of approximately 600 people with community services such as a Northern Store, nursing station, community hall/youth centre, baseball diamond and outdoor skating rink.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education Degree

Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)

A sound knowledge of provincial Early Years curricula

Previous Early Years teaching experience

Strong classroom management skills

Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life

Experience working in a northern community

Experience working with students with unique needs

A commitment to differentiated instruction

A willingness to inquire into best practices and reflect on practices

A team player committed to the belief that all students can learn

Self-motivated
