Stettler has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Practice Nurse for their Home Care team! Located within the Stettler Home Care Office, you will work with a dynamic, supportive team and will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people in your community. Reporting to the Home Care Manager, Stettler Home Care, you will utilize your strong assessment, organizational, and leadership skills to provide leadership and supervision of health care aides and deliver quality nursing care to clients in the community. The successful candidate will play a key role on the interdisciplinary team, collaborating in the delivery of holistic, client and family centre care. Stettler is located in the “Heart of Alberta”, just 179km southeast of Edmonton and 101km east of Red Deer. It serves as a regional hub with a main trading area involving over 11, 000 people. The town has a wide assortment of community facilities including an elementary/junior high school, a composite high school, a library, twin arenas, an aquatic centre, a performing arts theatre, and much more. The area also has a few golf courses and is close to Buffalo Lake. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Your role will require you to work independently in client homes, lift and carry medical bags and be comfortable working in all weather conditions. In this role, you will utilize your strong oral and written communication, and deliver quality nursing care to clients in all developmental stages in the community. Utilizing your experience in wound care, palliative care and client teaching you will take a collaborative approach to meeting health goals, contribute to the nursing diagnosis, and participate in nursing interventions and outcomes.
