In this role, you'll leverage your additional prescribing authorization to optimize medication regimens for both acute and chronic conditions. You'll play a pivotal role in empowering patients to manage their health by promoting healthy lifestyle choices, providing education, and delivering direct care. Your expertise will also ensure smooth transitions between care settings for our patients. Our dedicated technicians and assistants handle drug distribution, allowing pharmacists to focus on clinical practice and spend more quality time engaging with patients on the clinical units. As an added benefit, we offer our pharmacists a supplemental hourly allowance of $4.94, up to $10,000 annually. In addition, we also offer a remote retention allowance of up to $3,000 annually, enhancing our competitive overall compensation package. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).

Additional prescribing authorization (or obtained within 1 year from date of hire).

Prior interdisciplinary team experience is an asset. Ability to work effectively both in a team environment as well as independently. Ability to use evidence-based medicine in direct patient care.
