Job Summary

An opportunity to utilize your expert analytical and problem management skills

The Population and Public Health (PPH) Division provides executive stewardship for the health system through direction, ongoing review support, monitoring and evaluation, health surveillance, and course correction. PPH facilitates best practice development and evaluation of legislation, policies, strategies, course correction and performance expectations for health promotion, injury prevention, health protection, communicable disease prevention, immunization and women’s, maternal and early child health and public health planning for the people of British Columbia.

The successful applicant will independently manage the development and monitoring of policy, including the review and revision of existing ministry programs or legislation and issues management. This position focuses on infection prevention and control, immunizations, sexually-transmitted and blood borne pathogens and vaccine-preventable communicable diseases.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in business administration, public administration, health, or equivalent.
  • Experience analysing complex health and social policy issues, developing resolution strategies, and conducting evaluations.
  • Experience managing partner relationships and leading consultations and engagement.


Preferences:

  • Preference may be given to applicants who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit)
  • Preference may be given to those with graduate degrees.
  • Preference may be given to those with experience leading public health policy development.

This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
