Salary negotiable based on experience, training and number of days worked, plus a comprehensive benefit/pension plan and the Northern Living Allowance.

Roles and Responsibilities

Build staff capacity (teachers, educational assistants, LAC teachers, administrators, etc.)

Formal and informal screening and/or assessment as required

Create treatment plans

Attend parent meetings to implement, review and report on the child’s progress

Monitor a child’s progress

Supply appropriate resources such as visuals, etc.

Assist teachers and education assistants in providing developmentally appropriate practice

Maintain an inventory of materials, assessments, and supplies

Maintain appropriate, confidential records, and provide timely reports (complying with standards of Alberta Learning)

Meet with school teams

Communicate with supervisor

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Completing a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy is required. An experienced Occupational Therapist will provide mentoring and support.

The successful applicant must be registered or eligible to be registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapy Association (ACOT).

Strong team and interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a trans-disciplinary environment.

Demonstrated ability to manage caseload in a timely and effective manner.

This position follows the local School Division calendar.
