Compensation Range: $54,000 to $70,000 gross annual salary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan daily labour according to production requirements and productivity targets
- Assign work and follow up throughout your shift to ensure your teams achieving the plan
- Ensure everything your teams produce meet your internal and external customers’ requirements (Quality) and are delivered on time
- Responsible for safety, quality and compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures
- Proactively seek opportunities to improve upon safety, quality and productivity
- Play an active role in minimizing material usage
- Work independently and with your peers to resolve problems in the supply chain
- Responsible for hiring, training, performance evaluation, coaching, counseling and preparing corrective action for employees and liaises appropriately with HR and other support functions.
- Various administrative tasks including creation / review of material requisitions, production sheets, food safety documentation, shift reports etc.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Culinary training of any sort an asset
Work Experience:
- 2+ years supervisory experience working in a high volume, fast paced manufacturing or logistics operation preferred
- Experience leading in a unionized environment is a plus, but not required.
- Food related experience an asset
Skills:
- Must have strong and effective leadership skills, and the ability to successfully manage a staff of 50+ hourly employees.
- Strong communicator both verbally and in writing
- Ability to prioritize
- Must have the ability to give negative and positive feedback to employees daily
- Excellent time management skills required.
- Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
