Within a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment, Respiratory Therapists (RTs) deliver ongoing respiratory care to individuals facing various illnesses or conditions, spanning from acute to chronic cardio-respiratory ailments. Operating both autonomously and collaboratively within interdisciplinary team, your focus is on improving the quality of life for patients and their families. Respiratory Therapists are dedicated to continuous improvement and the adoption of best practices in respiratory care, while constantly advancing their own clinical proficiency. Additionally, they contribute to committees, teams, and approved research initiatives, further enriching their professional contribution to the field. KGH is also a clinical site for Thompson Rivers University Respiratory Therapy students.

Despite the remarkable growth of the KGH Respiratory Therapy department in recent years, the essence of working here remains akin to being part of a close-knit family. What sets being an RT at KGH apart is the significant level of autonomy granted in our roles, allowing us to undertake procedures that might not be within the purview of RTs at other facilities. Moreover, it's the sense of camaraderie we cultivate with colleagues across various disciplines that truly enriches our experience. Above all, it's the unwavering support we extend to one another that truly makes being an RT at KGH exceptional.
