The Vancouver - Marine Drive Distribution Centre (DC) is currently seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Manager, Inventory Control. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-potential, fast-paced environment and can navigate frequent workload changes and competing demands with enthusiasm and efficiency.

You will be responsible for the coordination and management of all inventory control functions including conducting daily cycle counts. You will be required to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and sharing of resources amongst internal and external departments to ensure the DC delivers a high level of customer service.

What you will do:

  • Serve as the primary client contact for inventory control, overseeing budget, quality accuracy, credit management, and operational process improvement.
  • Accountable for Inventory Control, Customer Service, Receiving and Auditing teams, including structuring work assignments, developing analysis methods, coaching team performance, and ensuring overall quality.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and development opportunities for your team, compromising of both non-union IC Coordinators and Union IC members, fostering a bench strength of knowledge, skills, and abilities within the team.
  • Implement effective leadership and performance management strategies to drive team engagement and achieve operational excellence.
  • Monitor and address retail claims and support client relationships for Loblaw and Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM) stores.
  • Drive operational improvements through behavioral feedback and tracking at the operator level.
  • Monitor the results of quality accuracy and implement programs to enhance operator accuracy.
  • Foster continuous improvements through site metrics tied to both budget and operational area/division.
  • Conduct operational workshops and education sessions to improve loss due to process errors.

What you will need:

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows.
  • Strong inventory, accounting, and financial skills.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of distribution inventory experience.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude that sets an example for others.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency and be able to set priorities effectively.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
