Divisional Inclusive Education Coordinator
in Grimshaw, Alberta
The Divisional Inclusive Education Coordinator reports to the Director of Learning Supports and is responsible for providing comprehensive supports to K-12 school-based staff to improve overall student achievement in an Inclusive Education setting. As a member of the Divisions Learning Services Team, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with division-level personnel to ensure seamless supports to school-based personnel including teachers, support staff, vice-principals, and principals.
This position will commence at the start of the 2024-2025 school year and is based out of the Division's Central Operations Building in Grimshaw, Alberta.
Duties and responsibilities:
Supporting school-based I-Coaches in coaching K-12 teachers to adopt a broad range of instructional and assessment practices that effectively address learner needs in an inclusive education setting
Fostering conditions that promote the improvement of educational opportunities for all students within an inclusive environment
Supporting the effective implementation of evidence-based inclusive learning practices, through the tiered supports/interventions of the CRM
Working with I-Coaches to provide programming support for students with complex needs
Sharing expertise in best practices in differentiated instruction and programming for complex needs that are research-based and evidence-supported as successful in improving student achievement
Working with I-Coaches and other school-based staff through mentoring, coaching and modeling to build site-based capacity in providing for all students in an inclusive environment
Effectively using various forms of technology (e.g., Google hangouts, webinars, video-conferencing) to augment school visitation supports that are sustainable within established budgets
Ensuring adherence to divisional policies/administrative procedures in the performance of duties
Building and maintaining close working relationships with the Divisional Learning Supports Team, and service providers such as the PCS team
Collaborating with other stakeholders and parents as part of the Learning Supports Team
Individuals who are interested will need to have completed graduate course work, or who are committed to pursuing graduate studies related to the duties and responsibilities above, are encouraged to apply.

This teaching position falls under the collective agreement between the Alberta Teachers' Association and the Peace River School Division.
Annual Salary Range:
$ 62, 702 to $ 105, 996 (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the Alberta Teachers Association and the Peace River School Division), plus an allowance as outlined in Article 4 of the collective agreement.
