The district enrolls approximately 22,000 students (K-12) and employs over 3000 dedicated staff. SD 38, Richmond School District, is looking to build its School Psychologists Team. We currently have both full-time and part-time continuing FTE available starting September 1, 2024. The School Psychologist position includes opportunities to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment in the context of the Learning Services Department and with school personnel. This position also involves professional consultation and supporting educational changes in a variety of contexts. The successful candidate will also:Provide collaborative consultation with teachers, parents, and community agencies, and at school-based team meetingsProvide ongoing collaborative planning for students and classrooms and assist with pre-referral interventionsProvide individualized psycho-educational assessments (based on student need) for students referred through the school-based team processContribute to the development and progress monitoring of the IEP or Student Learning PlanProvide in-service training in the area of interventions, progress monitoring, data collection and/or assessmentAssist with the Ministry of Education processes for designation and adjudicationAssist school and district staff in providing additional Pro D support for educators and support staffQualifications: a Master's degree in school/educational psychology (or related field) Certified/eligible for certification with the British Columbia Association of School Psychologists and/or Registration with the College of Psychologists, with special training and supervision in school psychologyTeaching certification with BC Teacher Regulation Branch an assetIf you have any questions about this position, please contact Braunwyn Thompson, Director of Instruction Inclusive Learning (bthompson@sd38.bc.ca).
