Patient Flow Specialist - Patient Flow and Repatriation - Temporary part-time 2024-8740

Summary of Duties Reporting to the Manager of Patient Flow, the Patient Flow Specialist will be responsible for the following: Coordinating allocation of beds Liaising with physicians regarding admissions, discharges and transfers Communicating status of patient needs and bed availability Managing surge and multi-casualty incidents Collaborate with patient care units (including the OR) to optimize patient flow   Qualifications/Skills Registered Nurse currently registered with the Ontario College of Nurses Four year degree in a relevant health profession or equivalent, completed or in progress 3-5 years direct patient care experience in acute care Previous patient flow experience preferred Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., MDs, other health professionals) Excellent communication, facilitation, leadership, decision-making and organization skills Demonstrated experience using Patient tracking systems and Windows based computer applications Demonstrated commitment to Patient Focused-Care concept and principles Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment with minimum direction Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative and respectful fashion
