Menno Simons Community School serves students in grades K-12 and is comprised of English students and ESL Mennonite students. The parents and the community are incredibly supportive of the school and the administrative team. The school is situated west of Fairview, Alberta, north of the beautiful Peace River in the mixed farming area of Cleardale, Alberta. Bear Canyon Colony School is located in Cherry Point. It is a small farming community in the Peace River Country close to the banks of the Peace River. The community is approximately 190 km from Grande Prairie and 80 km from Fort St. John, British Columbia. Bear Canyon Colony Hutterite School serves students in grades 1-7.
The Peace River School Division invites applications for a team leader with proven ethical and competent leadership expertise and the required skills to support an effective team approach.
The successful candidate will commence work for the 2024-2025 school year and will be responsible for the administration of two schools, Menno Simons Community School and Bear Canyon Colony School.
Qualifications:
- demonstrated proficiency as an administrator
- effective communication, interpersonal skills and organizational abilities
- successful management of school/program budgets
- proven ability to follow school division policies and administrative procedures
- experience in teaching high school level courses
- proven track record in leading and coaching teachers and building instructional capacity
- a strong focus on achievement for all students
- ability to support an effective team approach with staff, students and the community
Requirements:
Must hold or be eligible for a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Provide an acceptance current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
Please note, records check must be less than six (6) months old to date of application of your application.
School administration experience and graduate study in educational administration are definite assets. This assignment may include some teaching duties. Divisional housing is available for Menno Simons Community School staff.

This position falls under the Collective Agreement between the Alberta Teachers' Association and the Peace River School Division.
Annual Salary Range:
$ 62, 702 to $ 105, 996 (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the Alberta Teachers Association and the Peace River School Division) and additional allowance as per Article 3.
