Canyon School in Pincher Creek, Alberta is seeking to employ the very best school-based staff in Alberta! Canyon School requires a full time Success Coach to start on August 26, 2024. The Success Coach will become the key contact for identified students. The Success Coach will contribute purposefully to our school goals of leadership, culture and academics. This will be achieved by communicating closely with and meeting identified children and families to reduce barriers to academic success. Key duties will include some teaching, developing student leadership opportunities and providing cultural programming within the school.

We are seeking a teacher who:

Is passionate to work with First Nations, Metis, and Inuit students and provide cultural programming;

Desires to enhance and support cultural initiatives and engagement within the school;

Possesses strong organizational and classroom management skills;

Uses data to inform teaching and planning and has outcomes based assessment practices;

Effectively builds relationships with students to create a safe, caring and welcoming learning

environment;

Works collaboratively with students, families, teachers and administrators;

Is resourceful, energetic, creative, and self-directed;

Will enhance our school goals of leadership, culture and academics;

Embraces place based learning and can build community connections and partnerships, including connections with Elders;

Serves on our divisional FNMI committee, provides feedback to staff and professional learning;

Contributes to Success in School meetings.

The successful candidate must be in possession of, or eligible for, an Alberta Teaching Certificate. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All Livingstone Range employees must submit a current Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search and Child Welfare Intervention Check.
